Argentina will host a Counter-Strike Major for the first time in its history, and Buenos Aires has been chosen as the city to host the first top-tier tournament of 2027, according to an announcement this Friday by the specialized portal HLTV. This announcement marks the return of this type of competition to South America. The Major will take place from May 31 to June 20 and will be organized by the local company FiReSPORTS. This will be the first time the country hosts an event with official backing from Valve, making Argentina the fourteenth nation to organize a Counter-Strike Major. The tournament will bring together the best teams in the world and position the Argentine capital as a global epicenter of competitive gaming for nearly three weeks. Rodrigo Figueroa Reyes, CEO and founder of FiReSPORTS, confirmed the news and highlighted the magnitude of the challenge: "We are very excited to host the first Major in our country's history.
